Cole West (Cole West Home)

Washington City (Southern Utah office) · Draft listed profile for the 435 Alliance register.

Profile Draft

Cole West — formerly branded Cole West Home and several sister labels — is the largest homebuilder operating in Southern Utah by community count, and one of the few SoUT-active builders that is also a vertically integrated developer. Founder Colin Wright launched the parent C.W. Group in 2016 and immediately acquired the Southern Utah assets of Henry Walker Homes, rebranding that operation Cole West Home; the company traces deeper roots through Colin's father Gary Wright and Wright Development. In January 2025 the parent consolidated C.W. URBAN, Cole West Home, C.W. LAND Co., C.W. DESIGN, and C.W. BUILD under the single Cole West name, with Darlene Carter as CEO.

The corporate office is in Centerville, but the Southern Utah operation runs out of 2250 N. Coral Canyon Blvd. in Washington City. Active SoUT projects documented in stgeorgeutah.com reporting include Terra (a master-planned community near Coral Canyon zoned for nightly rental), The Cove (luxury condominiums at Desert Color with the "Sky Deck" amenity floor), Solis (244-residence master-planned community with prices from roughly $400,000 to over a million), and Rise, a 180-unit townhome project in Washington City. Cole West participates regularly in the St. George Area Parade of Homes.

Because Cole West functions simultaneously as land developer, residential GC, commercial developer, and architecture/design firm, it occupies a different slot in the 435 Alliance register than a custom-home shop: it is the closest thing SoUT has to a fully integrated regional homebuilder-developer.

Unresolved Questions

  • Utah DOPL license number(s) for the residential GC, commercial GC, and land-development entities under the Cole West umbrella.
  • Local Washington City office phone of record (the public number reported is an 800 line).
  • Whether the SoUT operation has its own GC license separate from the Centerville parent.
  • Annual SoUT closings and whether vacation-rental-zoned projects (Terra) are sold as production homes or true custom.
